Reconnect the boat battery to the boat wiring system.
Maxum boat speedometer not working. Get a new one. Boat owners take issue with the fiberglass layup. If the speedometer still refuses to move replace the speedometer unit on the dash.
Keep all the wires in place and with the keyswitch in the ON position Engine not Running you must have 12 Vdc on the Battery and Ground Terminals. Ive had this problem before with my alpha 1 legs and have cleared it easily by disconnecting the tube to the speedo and using air to back pressure and clear. If not keyed power is not getting to the Tach.
I just purchased a Maxum 2100SC Merc 50L Alpha 1 leg freshwater cooled. Maxum offers a Limited Warranty on each new Maxum purchased through an authorized Maxum dealer. Speedo appears to only have the vacuum line but there are no wires lose or not connected no idea why.
There is a tube that runs from the Speedo head to to the transom there is a connection on Mercruisers I am guessing but you need to tell us that runs the tube through the transom and then down the drive to a little hole in the very front of your drive leg. Recently it was working but I think it was about 8 MPH slow. If you did not receive a copy of the Limited Warranty please contact your Maxum dealer or call 360-435-8957 for a copy.
If not unplug the pink wire and connect it to a known good ground like your engine block or the negative terminal on your battery. A copy of the Limited Warranty was included in your owners packet. Speedometer doest work on Maxum 1700 Most boat speedometers are actually air pressure gauges.
I have a 2000 Maxum inboardoutboard boat with a 50L MerCruiser V8 engine. If you are not getting power from the battery check the connectors and wires back to the battery. This can result in bubbles in the laminate.
