Platoon movie summary and analysis. Platoon is a 1986 film written and directed by Oliver Stone in an attempt to use the war as a medium to express anti-war message. The film closes with hundreds of dead bodies fallen everywhere with no particular organization and no body bags. In the beginning Chris Taylor is very ignorant and his chances of survival are slim.

From the looks of it as he enters the platoon there are two main groups. Upon arrival in Da Nang South Vietnam he sees dead soldiers of American soldiers in body bags being loaded into his plane. One night as the groups are sent to as a night ambush control one of the men that are supposed to.

Chris Taylor Chris Taylor is to some extent the hero in the beginning of the movie as well as being the narrator and the main character. Hundreds of dead American and Viet Cong soldiers bodies are strewn all about the compound and nearby jungle floor. In this movie the element of film that stands out the most and had the biggest impact is sound which can be understood by analyzing a few different scenes containing both diegetic and non-diegetic sounds.
