I am torn between a Tohatsu 6 hp Sailpro 25 inch shaft and a 8 hp Tohatsu 20 inch shaft. The head with its solid door is fully enclosed for privacy. Our battery is a single 126 amphr deep cycle unit.
The 26x appears to be a cross between the 19 Powersailer and MacGregor 26 incorporating the water ballast system of the latter and the broad stern of the former in order to achieve 25-mph speeds with a 50-hp. The MacGregor 26 is a small recreational keelboat built predominantly of fiberglass with models designed for sailing and motor-sailingIt has a fractional sloop rig a transom-hung rudder and a centerboard or daggerboard keel depending on the model with flooding water ballastThe ballast is drained for road transport. The freshwater tank holds five gallons.
Solar panel and outboard are individually fused ahead of the controller ie. The head with its solid door is fully enclosed for privacy. Light enough by far for me to take this off by myself and carry into my garage.
10 HP but the 26X now took up to 50 HP. The MacGregor 26 centerboard has a ratio of 5 to 1 it is 13 in. I havent settled on a sailboat yet springs a long way off but Ive got a guy who is interested in trading a 5hp Eska outboard for some race shop equipment I have and dont need anymore.
