How to replace tub faucet valve. Pry off the caps that cover the screws holding the faucet handles in place. This step is not that difficult. Shut off your home’s main water supply valve.

The set screw is the small, headless screw at the faucet’s base. This will make the process easy and not messy. Position the handle puller's post against the screwhead and press the arms together behind the handle.

Now remove the lid present on top of the handle. Loosen the set screw with a hex key or allen wrench. You can use any sharp object to pry off the lid.
