Pholicious 2 years ago #1. Initially you could change your name only once but for some time it has been noticed that nickname can be changed multiple times. However, their username was unique and personal to them and once a username is chosen, it cannot be used by another account.

Some of the answers i heard were 3 times but if you change your name 3 times and want to change it for the 4th time, do you email niantic, does it work? I have changed it once so far and i still have the option, so it is at least 3 times total. Pokemon go has an option to change nickname only once, here's a trick to change it again!
