It starts right up wont shut off.

Evinrude outboard wont shut off. Turn the battery switch off. If the lanyard is pulled off of the lanyard switch the black and yellow wire is sorted to ground. Now connect one lead from your ohm meter to the black yellow wire and the other meter lead to the blackyellow wire on the key switch.

Disconnect the anphenol rubber connector at the power pack and look for the blackyellow wire. It was running good then just shut off. Items you will need.

The news coincides with BRPs quarterly earnings report on May 28 2020. I checked the external harness and again continuity between the black wires. Start it up again and again look for water spraying out.

I checked the ignition key when turned off and there si continuity between the two M terminals. I can hear the relay click and the fuel circulation pump runs for 10sec as it is supposed to. And the news that BRP is discontinuing production of Evinrude outboards came as a surprise to many.

Check again for the ground signal Be sure to replace the waterpump Big Steve. Engine turns over and start but wont turn off at the ignition. Turn off the motor and tilt the outboard again if you continue to have overheating issues.

70HP 1974 Evinrude outboard Not rated yet When starting out slowly it seems to misfire and when it runs for a while and we stop it wont start until it cools or we keep cranking it with the choke. Keep in mind the guide might not list every possible reason for a no-crank issue. The black and yellow wires are connected to ground through the ignition switch M terminals when it is in the off position.
