Catamaran hull structure. A catamaran has both the characteristics of a vee hull and a flat bottom hull combined into one ingenious vessel. This concept could work very well for shaping an aluminum hull bottom of a catamaran as the mould would be small compared to the entire hull of a 35 foot monohull. The centerboard has a double wing stabilizer with adjustable pitch.
Hand laid bagged vinylester over an Airex foam core in the hulls. We dont want it too high. Even if it is extraordinarily high the water will contact it eventually as the roughness and vessel speed increase.
This is a measure of the fullness of the ends of the hull. LDR near five the catamaran is a heavy one and made from solid laminate. Built by Robertson Caine in South Africa the hull material is vacuum bagged end-grain balsa-cored E-glass with polyester.
A number of hull configurations including mono hull and catamaran with two demi hull spacing were tested at three different Froude numbers. The wider the spacing the higher the bridgedeck needs to be to pass over waves and chop of a given height. The catamaran hull was constructed using an assembly of floating frame hull panels.
Catamarans were designed to be fishing boats though their use has increased and widened manifold in todays times. Near six the catamaran has a modern sandwich construction. Catamarans are a class of boat that has two hulls generally equal in size.
A catamaran stabilization structure for catamaran sailboats which includes a centerboard and dagger-boards. Almost every catamaran I know when sailing fast drags an immersed transom on one hull. The structure is completely laminated in the hull and not simply glued on.
