Just say something.
What to say to a dying cancer patient. Do try to create a semblance of normalcy That means trying to keep someone who is sick involved in a world that doesnt revolve around their disease. Im here for you. People who are dying can feel scared that they will be left alone to die.
Be as normal as possible Try to include the person in as many plans you can and alter the plans if he or she cant join you. It is better to admit that fact than to fill the silence with off-the-cuff statements just meant to fill the air. Lots of people send flowers which is lovely but when those flowers die make sure they get thrown away.
And so will they. The best advice in this situation is to say how you feel. Are you sorry that they are going through this.
Choose a time and place when you will be able to talk without being interrupted. It is much easier to run away. Sometimes hello or I love you is enough.
But that only makes them feel worse. Here are a few more conversation starters. You have to be willing to give up the life you planned and instead greet the life that is waiting for you.
Even if its not the kind of relationship where you say love often this is one time of life when youll feel good that you did. You might want to say Oh itll be fine just you wait and see or Lets not talk like that things will work out. Youre on my mind and in my heart.
