A very special historic steam-powered superyacht that was originally owned by original Dodge brother Horace Dodge of Dodge automobiles has come up for sale for 22 million. Her top speed is 13 kn and she boasts a maximum cruising range of 3000 nm at 9 kn with power coming from a Steam Reciprocating engine. After the war it was returned to the Dodge family who sold her on not long afterwards.

Originally launched by the Dodge family in 1921 SS Delphine is now grander and more sophisticated than ever having incorporated every amenity todays charter guests desire. In 1942 this steam-powered ship was requisitioned by the army and christened the USS Dauntless. Her original owner Horace Dodge of the Dodge automobile empire designed SS DELPHINEs unique quadruple-expansion steam engines which still work today.

Measuring 79m with a volume of 1342 GT she cruises at 9 knots and sleeps up to 26 guests. DELPHINE was first launched way back in 1921 in Michigan. Delphine is the largest steam yacht built in the US in the 1920s that is still in existence today.
