The Shelly Beach Ski Boat Festival is one of the countrys premier winter gamefish competitions in terms of total prize value and this years event which was hosted at the Shelly Beach Ski Boat Club from the 3rd to the 7th July was well supported by the angling community.

Shelly Beach is a small sea-side town that is very popular for scuba-diving shark cage diving deep-sea fishing and ski boat fun rides as well as dolphin and whale watching trips. Club facilities are open to the public and there is a bar restaurant and outdoor entertainment area with a pool and great sea views. In total 11 teams of juniors between 11 and 18 years old were entered for the tournament with teams from Mpumalanga 1 team Zululand 3 teams Southern Gauteng.
