Aircraft with straight floats have no wheels and cannot operate on land.
Do sea planes have wheels. Seaplanes that have retractable wheels are known as amphibians and can land on and take off from both water and runways. No most boats dont have wheels but there are actually amphibious ATVs and military transportation vehicles known as DUKWs They have their own propulsion systems but are mostly to be used outside of the water. A number of flaotplanes and seaplanes have no wheels.
The closest thing a plane would have is a variable pitch prop. Seaplane or more commonly called floatplanes. Pilots maneuver a seaplane on the water by taxiing or sailing.
Well obviously you CAN land without wheels as seaplanes demonstrate all the time. Various times I have seen and felt myself that the plane always lands on the rear wheels but not the front wheels. Every student is different however as a rough guide somewhere around 10000 to 12000 for a full endorsement should be expected.
Both a floatplane and a seaplane can take-off from and land on water such as oceans seas rivers and gulfs. A floatplane is technically a type of seaplane. The water can then flow freely behind the step resulting in minimum surface friction so the seaplane can lift out of the water.
Reply Prev of 3. These are about the same size as floatplanes but have a flying boat hull shape to land on water and retractable wheels for landing on land. Both can transport people or supplies.
But landing by definition is a process whereby an air vehicle becomes a land vehicle and it generally involves contacting the ground at speeds at least in the upper tens of miles per hour and for larger aircraft at speeds considerably over 100 MPH. Is this required for all the planes irrespective of size type to land only on the back wheels. How do they repair when they cannot land on land or a CV.
