Change colors while knitting. Give the new tail a good tug to pull down the loop around your knitting needle and create a stitch. Keep repeating the process to get the cast on ready. It is good practice when changing colors to grab your new color from below.
This will ensure that there are no holes in your work. Drop the first color and start the second simply taking. Once the yellow is pulled to the side take the white yarn and twist it over top the yellow and knit as you normally would.
Snip the old yarn off of the skein. To change colors, start knitting with the new yarn. Remove your thumb and tighten it up.
I show you how to add or change colors of yarn while you are knitting. To begin to change yarn colors, make a little loop hook with your new yarn. Make a loop on your thumb.
When you are done making your color changes or adding your new skein of yarn of the same color, you should do four things. Grab a few colors of yarn and start knitting stripes! Cast on your preferred number of stitches in the first color.
When the old pattern is complete, and you’re ready to add a different color, start knitting with new yarn. Insert the needle into the first stitch, loop the new color over the tip of the right hand needle and knit the first stitch.
