The Owner worked together with designer Pierre Jacques Kubis to create an interior inspired by the 1930s passenger ships. The superyacht is designed by Pierre Jacques Kubis Naval Design.

Despite not being a scientific expedition the trip involved some fact-finding about whales in Iceland among other natural studies. With an aluminum and reinforced steel structure it is an exploration vessel. Named after a 19th-century scientist and explorer charter yacht YERSIN is built for adventure combining state-of-the-art technology with a range of 15 000 nautical miles for serious exploring.

When it was time for the traditional champagne bath the duty went to Fanny Fiat the owners daughterand the godmother of Yersin. Alexandre Yersin after whom the yacht was named. Bureau Veritas Clean Ship Classified.
