Encouraging Messages for a Cancer Patient.
What to write in a card to someone who has terminal cancer. References or predictions about death. Im so impressed by your courage and endurance. Telling them that youre praying for peace and comfort would be a better way to go.
Cancer patients tend to enjoy positive messages and words of encouragement from their family friends colleagues and co-workers. You can use heartfelt emotion to appeal to the letters recipient. You can list the attributes your loved one possesses that will aid them in their fight.
I have enormously appreciated such messages. Its okay to acknowledge the illness in a supportive manner such as Id like to come visit you if youre up for it. Do tell the person you are thinking of them praying for them keeping them in your thoughts etc.
Mentioning people you know who have had cancer. This takes some of the guesswork and pressure off of you to write something witty. It would be a disservice to you and your friend to pretend that nothing has changed but that doesnt mean they need to.
This is a difficult diagnosis but please dont get discouraged. A guess as to how or why the person became ill with cancer. Sending words of encouragement can change someones whole day.
Email is not as intrusive as a telephone call or voicemail. Hope is the only thing stronger than fear. Figuring out what to write in a card or what to say when someone has cancer is not easy to do.
