What do you say to someone newly diagnosed with cancer. Keep it about them not you. Im sorry for what you are going through. You are my hero.

Then write a sincere thank-you. Everybody is different but someone who has just been diagnosed with cancer will probably be feeling very lonely. A simple I will keep thinking of you or I wish you much love and strength or Im sending you a big hug is a perfect way to end your note.

Sometimes the right thing to say to a person who has cancer is nothing at all. So proud of you. Just say something.

You can express your support by saying Please let me know how I can help. Almost everyone knows someone who has survived the cancer fight. You can support the person with cancer by listening and talking with them.

Your strength inspires me. Im rooting for you. If someone you know is going through this know that your support is valued.

Every day you are getting closer. The worst you can do is to say nothing. Even if you yourself have cancer chances are pretty good that you will not be alone in your circle of friends.
