Tritoon add on. Add lift decrease splashing and increase top speed as much as 48 miles per hour depending on engine selection. Most performance pontoon boats come with engines that provide plenty of power for speeds of 18-30 MPH which is enough for tubing and skiing but if you have a less powerful engine and are ready to speed things up you can look into adding more horsepower. Installing a third Toon on to our pontoon boat using Pontoon Wholesalers Poly 3rd Tube Kit.
To make your Pontoon a Tri-toon. For optimum performance lifting strakes are recommended for engines rated 115hp or greater and for boats exceeding 30 mph. Boat length is provided as a helpful guideline but should not be used as a primary determinant of motor size.
Lifting strakes are recommended for 90 hp or greater on boats with twin elliptical pontoons. This is just the average range there are also exceptionally small pontoon boats. You should also consider this added weight if you plan on parking the boat in a lift or trailering it down the road.
One of the added benefits is the reduction of pontoon submarining. Under deck skin full length. Image shows carpeted rails attached to the standard rail kit.
24 Carpeted Rail Kit Add-on. May 27 2015. Is 48 too little for a tritoon that sits pretty high up.
An important thing to know when shopping manufacturers is what kind of third toon they add to the boat. I am planning on adding the center tube about 12-16 back from the other tubes. On the Avalon site there is a picture of a added 3rd toon about 16 inches in front of the motor pod based on the under skinning rivets.
