Raising the motor provides less drag on the boat and lower unit and directs the motors thrust parallel to the water.
Tracker boat jack plate. You are exactly right about the HP. My question is how much more effect toward porpoising will having 10 setback cause compared to 6. The boat performed better with a different prop giving the rig better handling at high speed a higher top end and no porpoising when cruising.
Someday I will get a 40 or 50. Im even splitting the price of the jack plate. From the information Ive gathered 10 on a smaller bayboat is a lot of setback 6 being more the norm.
Jul 26 2011 3 Re. For those that will ask. I was leaning towards something in 6-8 but now I am more confused.
There will be less drag force on the boat. Tracker was the first complete ready-to-fish boat to hit the market and has been a leader ever after. I dont have any problems getting on plane or handling but run some shallow water sometimes so a hydraulic lift is more feasible.
50 out of 5. Yes et up is more easy to do however my history. When youre in shallow water its normal for you to want to trim the motor so that nothing happens with your propeller.
The plate allows you to adjust how much of the prop is in the water at any given time. A jack plate will lift your engine up in the water and bring your propeller closer to the surface of the water. Learn how to DIY without having the equipment of a marine shop.
