If you use your mac to back up your iphone or ipad, you can delete old backups. You’ll see macintosh hd show up on desktop, right click on it and then click get info. My macbook pro is saying that it is basically out of storage.

After i used your method i could increase the available space to 6,22gb… a little help. After scanning, mark all the files that you would want to clean and click on the “clean” button. Paste in the following command box ~/library/caches and press go.

Select unwanted files and click clean to free up more storage space. When i dig into what is causing it, it shows that it is all in system which makes no sense because i have essentially zero files on this computer. You’ll see a graphic illustrating how the space on.
