The base for RAGNAR is the ex-offshore vessel SANABORG with a Polar Class 5 hull that was built in 2012 in the Netherlands.

It comes after the 2450GT icebreaker explorer departed Icon Yachts Harlingen facility following a two year conversion. Based on the owners and Icon Yachts wishes and demands we provided a technical general arrangement plan together.

His quest to find a Northern European shipyard that could realise his idea led him to Icon Yachts in Harlingen. The yachts interior is designed by RWD and is inspired by medieval war craftsmanship. The companys shipyard is twenty five years old and is located on reclaimed land just outside the historic port of Harlingen with unrestricted open-water access from locks and bridges.

The new lines are designed by the British design studio RWD. The original vessel Sanaborg was initially built as an ice. The 682 metre luxury explorer Ragnar has been captured underway at sea.

ICON YACHTS launched their latest conversion explorer superyacht the 68 meter Project Ragnar. The yacht will accommodate 16 guests in six guest cabins and two owner staterooms. The superyacht is powered by 2 Caterpillar diesel engines in combination with Wärtsilä diesel-electric pods.

To accomplish his goal to go where few have gone before on private yachts the owner chose to convert a commercial ship. Luxury explorer yacht RAGNAR previously Sanaborg is a 682m 2238ft explorer and ice-breaker superyacht offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 7 luxury cabins. The yacht Ragnar was listed for sale asking EUR 695 million.
