I dive into this much deeper on my denim painting 101:
Painting with bleach on denim. Then, stop the cycle and add blue jeans. Let the jeans soak for a few. Secure your shirt by folding.
This will provide an even surface for your design to be created. Give each newspaper a name and begin drawing. I done this when i was a kid, laid my jeans in the bath flat down and no water.
All you do is fill your machine with water and add 1/2 cup of beach to it and run the cycle till the two are mixed together. It is a bit riskier to machine wash your painted denim and can cause your painting to get partially get rubbed off. If you put painter’s tape on your denim, wait 24 hours before removing the tape.
Paint and supplies post, but i’ll summarize it here. I bleached this denim couch quite a few years ago. I had it for about a year and a half after the bleaching.
Now that the swatches are all bleached it's time to play with distressing the denims. Allow a couple of newspapers to sit on the ground and begin drawing. Bleach painting on textiles d.i.y.
It held up well for an older sofa cover. In order to bleach jeans, you need 1 part water and 1 part bleach in a bucket or bathtub. I think you would have to research it but you get the right kind of bleach and it works in 10.
