1) identify the type of operating mechanism you have for your blinds, whether it is a cord or a wand.

My blinds are stuck and won't go up. Remove the honeycomb blinds from the window. This headrail is usually made of hard plastic and located at the topmost part of your blind. “my blinds roll up and down but don’t stay in place” the ratchet is responsible for ensuring the blinds stay.

If your blinds refuse to come down give a gentle tug on the cords to help loosen the blinds and then lower them. Pull the cord all the way up to the header piece or the headrail. Remove the flat pin cap placed in the side of the roller blinds.

Make sure there is no debris or obstructions in the way of the blinds and the track. Reach for the brackets, usually located behind the blinds using your thumb. Unfasten the shades from the brackets.

To release the blinds tug the lift cords to the side pulling towards the center of the blinds. You will find the pawl there. If they are like mine, you can pop them off their brackets on the top, there is string and pulley system up there.

Use your warranty first if you can. This is when you blind seems stuck. This took me about 30 minut.
