If it doesn't stop try tightening it a little more if it doesn't stop then.
Leaky spigot handle. Remove the faucet handle, packing nut and washer. Be sure to shut off the water to the spigot prior. The stem packing might be spilling if the spigot leaks around the handle when the water is turned on.
In this case, some plumber’s tape might do the trick, or you just might need a new hose. Instead of a new packing washer, wrap a thick layer of teflon tape round the spigot. Today we are addressing a water leak on an outdoor faucet.
It seems to be a soft screw, like. The water is leaking from behind the handle of the spigot. The same type of leak might also indicate that something is wrong with the cartridge itself.
Start by removing the decorative cap. Replace the handle and secure it with the handle’s screw. Just tighten that nut about a 1/4 turn and see if it stops.
If you have a leaking outdoor faucet and the leak is coming from the valve. Turn the water supply valve back on and check for leaks. First, start by tightening the retainer nut to see if that fixes the problem.
This is usually noticed if you have a leaky sink around the sink handle. A loose retainer nut causes the majority of leaky. Once loosened, hold the faucet handle, and pull the valve stem out of the spigot.
