Hi, i just had the same problem when replacing myself the screen of my iphone 6.

Iphone 6 touch id. Touch id worked well but not the home button. Tap the fingerprint, then enter a name (such as “thumb”) or tap delete fingerprint. Set up touch id on iphones and ipads and add multiple fingerprints to unlock with both hands or give access to others.

If you're using a case or screen protector, make sure it doesn't cover the touch id sensor or the surrounding ring. Launch the settings app, scroll down, and tap on touch id & passcode. If you are unable to activate touch id on this iphone 6 plus and ios models, just follow steps below.

Tap settings > touch id & passcode, then enter your passcode. Enter your device passcode when asked. When you have the fingerprint not working problem continually, you had better remove the old one and set a new fingerprint.

If you added more than one fingerprint, place a finger on the home button to identify its print. If you haven’t set up a passcode, then it will prompt you to set it up, as you need the passcode for additional security validation. Scroll down and tap on touch id & passcode, then enter your passcode.
