AFAIK the default installation is 32-bit.

Subtitles are made via Microsofts cloud service so a good reliable Internet connection is necessary. I dont use PowerPoint online but I think it is needed to click the subtitle and some seconds later click again. 64-bit Office isnt necessary or useful for most users and the 64 bit version has poorer CODEC support for video than 32-bit Office.
After several seconds the menu will disappear. Select the S icon located at the bottom left of the screen. On the Slide Show tab clear the Play Narrations check box.
