Hot cocoa recipe nyt. Heat, whisking occasionally until the mixture starts to bubble around the edges. If desired, garnish with marshmallows, cream or cinnamon sticks. Whisk in vanilla and taste for sweetness, adding more.
Stir in milk and heat until very hot, but not boiling! Stir then microwave for an additional 30 seconds or until hot. Cover pot tightly and steep 1 hour.
Whisk until sugar is dissolved. Heat to serving temperature (do not boil). 3 add mini marshmallows to the container, if desired.
