Identify the individual yarn plies and count them.

Bind off knitting in the round. Finally, draw the needle through the second stitch on the knitting needle knitwise from the back side. Advertisement step 2 knit the first. Insert the needle into the first st, pull through the loop.

Inspect your yarn tail by untwisting it a bit, near your work. Then, bind off down the second side of your project to make a smooth edge to your round. One of the easiest and most versatile bind offs is the basic bind off.

We use a stitch marker to show the beginning of the round, but when we start binding off, we put a stitch marker in the 1st knit stitch and in the 1st purl stitch. Binding off on circular needles is pretty similar to using straight needles. To finish a knitted tube, such as an ear warmer or headband, you can bind off in the round on circular needles.

Knit two stitches off your left. Feed the tapestry needle knitwise through the first stitch. The sewn bind off is my favorite bind off for collars, the tops of socks or fingerless mitts, or anything that needs a bit of extra stretch without losing.
