Alumacraft makes a pretty good boat.

Are alumacraft boats any good. Lets zoom out for a second. If the ribs of the boat are riveted it is considered a riveted boat. Heres where that lower Alumacraft cost comes back to bite you.

The Alumacraft has a higher hp rating and can hold 60lbs more. I do think that the Alumacraft advertisement that they offer more boat for the money is right on. Plus as an independent boat company you can pretty much get an Alumacraft with the engine brand of your choice.

Both are fine boats. I wanted a 1236 first. My firs boat was a Lund and it was really a very good boat.

My last 6 boats have been Alumacraft. I am helping a friend look for a boat this spring and we are confining our search to those three brands. Overall these available boats have a stable deep draft and beam traits that make them a favorite for freshwater fishing saltwater fishing overnight cruising and day cruising.

They also can handle a bigger motor so I suspect they are a little beefier. It is known for its balance of quality at a more affordable price. Alumacraft makes bass style boats like the Pro Series Prowler Series and Crappie Deluxe Series sure but these are all for the weekend angler.

Unfortunatly I have not been able to find many opinions on these or any Alumacraft models other than smaller tiller steer jons for that matter. Our Boat is named BixbyWe have enjoyed restoring and operating it for the last 10 years but we did not even get it on the water last year so its time for it to have a new home with some one who will continue to use and enjoy itBixby is watertight has a fuel compartment bilge and drain plugIt is remarkably nimble for its age perfectly capable of pulling a water skier or towable floatIt is ready to be towed just about any. Other than owner abuse or lack of care you cant go wrong with any of them.
